CES 2026: TCL's new X11L SQD-Mini LED TV is a flagship that could rival Samsung and LG's Micro RGB
TCL's TV announcement at CES 2026 doesn't follow the RGB trend that was expected from the big TV brands. Still, the new flagship TCL X11L SQD-Mini LED TV could wind up being one of the brightest and most impressive TVs of the year.
The idea is that by using smaller red, blue, and green LEDs, Micro RGB TVs will not only have better color accuracy, they’ll also see less light bleed. Light bleed happens when an LED TV’s backlight leaks from a bright area of an image to a dark area.
The brand's new crown jewel TV of 2026 is the X11L, which features TCL's Super Quantum Dot (SQD) Mini LED panel, for which the company claims achieves 100 percent of the BT2020 color gamut. This is accomplished by pairing the SQD layer with a CSOT UltraColor Filter, as well as an Advanced Color Purity Algorithm.
Mini-LED is an evolution of traditional LCD TV backlight tech, using thousands of tiny light-emitting diodes to improve picture quality. One of the first mini-LED TVs to become available was the 2019 TCL 8-Series, and it's a technology which has become more widely available with each passing year.
While most brands are still getting to grips with simple RGB implementations of these next-gen screen technologies, Hisense is already adding a fourth color dimension.
