A few years ago, I left my career to chase a big, slightly outrageous dream—to sail solo around the world. I had a few years of sailing under my belt, and only five days of continuous offshore experience. I knew I had a lot to learn, so I threw myself in. And this was the beginning. 14,000 miles. Three oceans. Two women. One boat. Some people might think we were a bit nuts—two strangers committing to spend 2.5 months in a tiny cabin, sailing halfway around the world, having never met in person.
